NASF: Objectives and Aims
The North Atlantic Salmon Fund was founded in 1989 by Orri Vigfusson and a group of friends from Iceland. From the start the NASF has been in the forefront in protecting the Salmon in the north Atlantic by engaging in proactive measures.
With their efforts the NASF members and chairman, Mr.Orri Vigfusson have signed over twenty commercial deals that all have the same goal. Save the salmon! With deals inspired by their core principles they have managed to restore salmon breeding ground, ban drift nets and buy out commercial netting of salmon, to name a few.
All the NASF activities are carried out under the strong leadership of the renowned fly angler and the NASF chairman Mr. Orri Vigfusson. Being one of the most honoured angler in the world Orri Vigfusson has devoted his time and efforts to the restoration of the salmon stock in the North Atlantic.
To carry out the commercial deals the NASF relies on the support of their members and beneficiaries throughout the angling world. We at Einarsson Fly Fishing encourage all fly fishermen to participate in NASF work by donating to the campaign though their website. More information can be found
